The IWUF and the International School Sport Federation (ISF) signed an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) on February 25, 2020 to confirm that the sport of wushu has been included in the programme of the 2020 ISF School Summer Games – Gymnasiade taking place in Jinjiang, China, on October 17-24, 2020. The MOU confirms cooperation between the federations for the upcoming organization and promotion of the games and the joint exploration of wushu as a means of physical and educational development for young people.

The ISF has the mission to organize worldwide School Sport events, hence promoting education through sport. The IWUF develops wushu throughout the world, enriching people’s lives physically and mentally, and promoting friendship and understanding, free from all forms of discrimination, between all people through the spirit of sport. Wushu has its unique role in physical and educational development for young people.

The IWUF and the ISF are aware of the continuous growing need for international cooperation and recognize that they both subscribe to the same universal values of respect, solidarity, tolerance, equality, friendship, youth education and fair-play. The parties also recognize the role played by sport as a factor in promoting inclusion, education and gender equality.

The two federations mutually recognize their ability to combine their energies and resources in ensuring that both are able to achieve their respective aims and objectives in promoting wushu among young people as a tool which helps foster positive universal values, physical education, and the wellbeing of young people.

The IWUF will provide the international technical offices, experts and other assistance in the technical aspects of ISF School Summer Games. The IWUF looks forward to cooperating with the ISF to bring a new platform to young people who practice wushu around the world.
