New Year's Message

Dear WMC members!

As we welcome the dawn of 2024, we, the World Martial Arts Masterships Committee (WMC), extend our heartfelt greetings to each one of you.

This past year has been a remarkable journey for world martial artists. Despite the ongoing challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and a complex global economic landscape, our committee has demonstrated remarkable resilience. Through the revival of various events and Masterships, we have proudly showcased our strength and adaptability.

Significant strides were made in 2023 when WMC relocated its secretariat to Seoul, Republic of Korea. This move was accompanied by notable achievements, including the successful hosting of the 2023 Online World Martial Arts Masterships, the establishment of the World Martial Arts Archive, and the seamless operation of WMC-TV.

Looking ahead to 2024, WMC is committed to deepening its role as a Permanent Consultative Member (PCM) of UNESCO. We aim to further promote by enhancing our partnerships with internal sports organizations, including SportAccord. Our key initiatives for the year include:

1. Developing a program for the globalization of martial arts events, integrating cutting-edge AI technology.

2. Supporting the distribution of sports operating systems for martial arts events of International Sports Federation (IF) members.

3. Establishing the World Martial Arts Journalists Network (WMN) to bolster the promotion of world martial arts.

4. Securing host countries for both the World Martial Arts Masterships and World Youth Martial Arts Masterships.

We extend our deepest appreciation for the unwavering dedication and hard work of the WMC members throughout the past year.

2024 is heralded as the ‘Year of the Blue Dragon“, symbolizing courage and the spirit of challenge. May this year inspire every martial artists around the world to embrace new challenges with hope and courage, setting ambitious goals and realizing our dreams.
